Cadillac Waves Goodbye To Current Generation V-Series With 2015 CTS-V Coupe

The next-generation CTS-V is on its way, but Cadillac is seeing to it that the outgoing model won’t die quietly. The automaker has announced it will produce 500 limited-edition 2015 CTS-V coupes which will become available during the second quarter of this year, ensuring the old model goes out with a bang.

The special edition CTS-V Coupes will be mechanically identical to the standard CTS-Vs built from 2010-2014. That means it gets the 556 horsepower 6.2-liter supercharged LSA V8, Brembo brakes and Magnetic Ride Control suspension. Where it differs is in its dark-finish V grille, satin graphite finish wheels and red brake calipers. Buyers will have the choice of Crystal White, Phantom Gray or Black Diamond (a $995 option) exterior paint finishes.

Inside, the special edition V Coupe gets model-exclusive Ebony interior trim with contrasting red stitching, Recaro performance seats, metal sport pedals, Midnight Sapele wood trim and a microfiber suede-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.

The 500 special edition CTS-V Coupes are available for immediate order with a starting price of $72,195, including a $995 destination charge and $1,300 gas guzzler tax.

Along with the announcement of the special edition Coupes, Cadillac acknowledged the existence of its next-generation line of V-series models, which it says are currently under development. The models are due to premiere next year, possibly at the North American International Auto Show in January.

“The V-Series continues to elevate Cadillac, providing an exclusive family of high-performance luxury models that attract a new audience of elite and passionate buyers,” Uwe Ellinghaus, chief marketing officer for Global Cadillac, said in a statement.
