General Motors Has Many Electric Vehicles On The Way

General Motors has announced many new electric vehicles which will be coming in the next few years with some models coming this year. Both the Chevrolet and GMC lineups will be getting a new lineup of electric trucks and SUVs and what they promise is quite simply remarkable. Let’s take a look at some of the GM electric vehicles we expect to see in the next two or three years.

Chevrolet Silverado EV

The Chevrolet Silverado EV is going to be the first electric pickup from Chevy. It will deliver remarkable power and exceptional range as high as 640 km. The Chevy Silverado EV is expected next year as a 2024 model, and it will offer many versions including RST and WT. The latter could tow upwards of 30,000 pounds according to GM and the Silverado EV regardless of its version will deliver over 10,000 pounds of towing capability.

GMC Sierra EV

Like the current lineup of Silverado and Sierra models, we expect the GMC Sierra EV to offer exceptional capabilities and performance with remarkable towing capacity. The 2022 GMC Sierra EV should also offer over 600 km of range, and we expect it to deliver over 10,000 pounds of towing capability at a minimum.

Chevy Blazer EV

The Chevrolet Blazer EV will be a new fully electric SUV from GM and it’s expected next year. We don’t know much about the specs of this impressive new model, but we do know that it will stand out with its design. The first images of the Chevy Blazer EV are simply stunning, and we can’t wait to see more.

These models will join the current crop of GM electric vehicles that include the Chevrolet Bolt with over 400 km of range, the Chevrolet Bolt EUV, and the all-new GMC Hummer EV. Give us a call today to learn more about these impressive new models.

The first thing we notice about the 2022 GMC Sierra is the introduction of two new very luxurious models. First is the GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate, the most luxurious GMC Sierra model ever built. The Denali will still be offered in the Sierra family but there will be a new trim called Denali Ultimate which will have a distinct design with a unique grill, more advanced technology, and an exclusive and premium interior. The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado has received significant improvements this year. The brand-new Chevy Silverado has more technology, more capability, and a redesigned interior that is more luxurious than ever. There are a lot of reasons to consider a 2022 Chevy Silverado.

It all starts with the redesigned interior which features a 13.4-inch centre display, one of the largest in the segment. This system houses a new infotainment system with enhanced capabilities with Google built-in and Alexa. Some models even get a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster for an even more impressive interior. There’s something truly special about this new Silverado, and you will notice it the second you climb inside.

The 2022 Chevy Silverado also now offers the advanced GM Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance technology. This system is one of the most advanced in the business and allows you to take your hands off the wheel while the Silverado handles the road. You can also use the system when towing.

Why Buy a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado Instead of a 2024 Ford F-150?

When considering a full-size truck, the decision often comes down to comparing the best in the class. The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado and Ford F-150 stand as two top contenders, each boasting its strengths. However, when delving into the details, several reasons emerge as to why the 2024 Silverado could be a more compelling choice over the Ford F-150.

Engine Performance and Power

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado leads with a diverse range of potent engines. The lineup includes a 2.7L TurboMax engine delivering 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, ideal for robust performance and heavy-lifting tasks. The 5.3L and 6.2L ECOTEC3 V8 engines elevate this further, offering 355 horsepower with 383 lb-ft of torque and 420 horsepower with 460 lb-ft of torque, respectively. Notably, the 3.0L Duramax Turbodiesel engine is a highlight, bringing 305 horsepower and a remarkable 495 lb-ft of torque to the table.

In comparison, the 2024 Ford F-150’s standard 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine, though capable, doesn’t quite match up in terms of power and torque. Additionally, Ford’s decision not to offer a diesel option in 2024 contrasts starkly with the Silverado’s strong diesel performance.

Towing Capacity: A Key Consideration

Towing capacity is a critical factor for truck buyers, and here the Silverado impresses. Its towing prowess is evident across its range, from the TurboMax’s commendable 9,500-pound limit to the impressive 13,300-pound capacity of the higher-end ECOTEC3 and Duramax models. This wide range ensures that the Silverado meets various towing needs, from moderate to heavy-duty.

While the F-150 can reach a maximum towing capacity of 13,500 pounds, this is restricted to its higher-end model. The base model’s towing capacity is closer to 8,000 pounds, falling short of the Silverado’s base capacity. Thus, for a more consistent towing performance across different trims, the Silverado emerges as a more versatile choice.

Interior Luxury and Connectivity

In terms of interior amenities and technology, the Silverado stands out. The truck features advanced infotainment systems with large, responsive touchscreens and seamless smartphone integration. Safety enhancements include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, and a comprehensive suite of sensors and cameras, providing unmatched visibility and collision avoidance capabilities.

In comparison, while the F-150 also offers modern technological equipment, it doesn’t quite reach the level of integration and user-friendliness found in the Silverado and Sierra models, particularly in their higher-end trims.

The Off-Road Advantage and Customization

For off-road enthusiasts, the Chevrolet Silverado, particularly in its ZR2 configuration, offers an exceptional balance of rugged capability and on-road comfort. The Silverado’s suspension system, underbody protection, and specialized driving modes make it adept at handling challenging terrains.

While Ford offers the Raptor for off-road experiences, the Silverado ZR2, along with the Sierra AT4 models, provide a more balanced approach, delivering off-road capabilities without sacrificing on-road comfort.

Choosing between the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado and the 2024 Ford F-150 is no small feat. However, the Silverado’s superior engine performance, especially its diesel option, greater towing capacity across a wider range of models, luxurious and tech-forward interior, and balanced off-road capabilities make it a compelling choice for those seeking a full-size truck that excels in versatility, power, and overall driving experience.

The 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer’s Edge Over the 2024 Hyundai Kona

When diving into the compact SUV market, the 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer and Hyundai Kona are two models that frequently capture the attention of potential buyers. Both bring to the table a mix of style, comfort, and efficiency. However, upon closer examination, certain aspects of the Trailblazer distinguish it from its Hyundai counterpart, particularly in performance, efficiency, and onboard technology. This article aims to dissect these differences in an informative manner, providing a clearer picture for those torn between these two vehicles.

Enhanced Performance and Efficiency

Under the hood, the Chevrolet Trailblazer offers a choice between two turbocharged engines, both of which edge out the Hyundai Kona’s base engine in terms of power and torque. The Trailblazer’s entry-level option, the ECOTEC 1.2L Turbo Engine, generates 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque, coupled with a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) for front-wheel drive versions. For those seeking more vigor, the ECOTEC 1.3L Turbo Engine ups the ante with 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission in all-wheel drive configurations. In comparison, the Hyundai Kona’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine delivers 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. The Trailblazer’s superior torque figures translate into brisker acceleration and passing capabilities, marking a clear performance advantage.

Fuel Consumption Advantage

Fuel efficiency is another area where the Trailblazer shines. Chevrolet has worked diligently to balance the SUV’s power with responsible fuel consumption, resulting in impressive efficiency figures. The Trailblazer’s fuel consumption rates are competitive, particularly when considering its performance output. Here’s a comparative look at the fuel consumption figures:

VehicleCity L/100 kmHighway L/100 km
Trailblazer 1.2L Turbo7.8 – 9.07.2 – 8.1
Trailblazer 1.3L Turbo8.4 – 9.76.7 – 8.3
Hyundai KonaHigher than Trailblazer’s rangeComparable or slightly higher

These figures highlight the Trailblazer’s ability to offer a more fuel-efficient ride, particularly for those who prioritize efficiency alongside performance.

Advanced Features and Safety Technology

Beyond performance and efficiency, the 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer is equipped with a suite of advanced features and safety technologies, setting a new standard for the compact SUV segment. Standard offerings include the Manual Transmission Icon, three Drive Modes for tailored driving dynamics, and an HD Rear Vision Camera for enhanced visibility. Safety is paramount with the inclusion of 10 airbags, Teen Driver technology to encourage safe driving habits, and a Rear Seat Reminder to prevent child or pet entrapment.

Furthermore, the Trailblazer is outfitted with Forward Collision Alert and Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, and IntelliBeam® High Beam Assist. These assistive technologies contribute to a safer driving experience, actively helping to prevent accidents before they occur.

Adding to its appeal, the Trailblazer boasts an 11-Inch Diagonal Colour Touch-Screen and standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, enhancing connectivity and entertainment on the go.

While both the 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer and Hyundai Kona are commendable compact SUVs, the Trailblazer’s superior performance, better fuel efficiency, and advanced safety and technological features position it as a standout choice for consumers. Its blend of power, efficiency, and cutting-edge technology offers a compelling package for those seeking a versatile and safe compact SUV.
